Route Overview

The Naro Moru Route is the fastest way to reach Point Lenana (4,985m) on Mount Kenya. Known for its **Vertical Bog**, this route ascends quickly through forest and moorland with spectacular alpine scenery.

This 5-day version allows for a more relaxed pace with an extra acclimatization day, giving trekkers more time to enjoy the alpine landscapes and reduce the risk of altitude sickness.

5 Day Naro Moru Route Itinerary

Day 1: Naro Moru Gate → Met Station Start trekking from **Naro Moru Gate**, passing through forest and moorland to reach **Met Station** for overnight. Hiking Time: 4–5 hours

Day 2: Acclimatization – Met Station Short hikes around the alpine valleys and ridges near **Met Station** to aid acclimatization and enjoy the scenery. Hiking Time: 3–4 hours

Day 3: Met Station → Shipton Camp Trek through the famous **Vertical Bog** and alpine moorlands to reach **Shipton Camp**, your base before the summit. Hiking Time: 5–6 hours

Day 4: Shipton Camp → Point Lenana → Shipton Camp Early morning summit hike to **Point Lenana (4,985m)**. Descend back to **Shipton Camp** for overnight. Hiking Time: 7–8 hours

Day 5: Shipton Camp → Naro Moru Gate Final descent through forest and moorland back to **Naro Moru Gate**, completing the trek. Hiking Time: 4–5 hours
