Arusha National Park is one of Tanzania’s most scenic parks and the closest national park to the city of Arusha. Despite its small size, the park offers a remarkable diversity of landscapes including lush forests, open savannah, volcanic craters, and beautiful lakes.
Dominated by the majestic Mount Meru, Tanzania’s second-highest mountain, the park is famous for its rich wildlife, scenic viewpoints, and unique safari activities such as walking safaris and canoeing on the Momella Lakes.

Morning — Arusha to Arusha National Park
Your safari begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Arusha followed by a short drive to Arusha National Park.
After arriving at the park gate, your guide will handle park registration before starting the game drive through the park’s beautiful landscapes.
Game Drive Through the Park
Explore the diverse habitats of the park while spotting wildlife including giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, bushbucks, warthogs, and several species of monkeys such as the black-and-white colobus monkey.
The park is also a paradise for bird lovers with over 400 species recorded.
Momella Lakes & Scenic Views
During the drive you will visit the Momella Lakes, a series of shallow alkaline lakes that often attract flamingos and other water birds.
On clear days you can enjoy spectacular views of Mount Meru and sometimes Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.
Lunch in the Park
Enjoy a relaxing picnic lunch at one of the designated picnic sites surrounded by nature and beautiful scenery.
Afternoon Game Drive & Return to Arusha
After lunch you will continue exploring the park before driving back to Arusha in the late afternoon.
