Detailed Itinerary
Day 1 — Nairobi → Samburu National Reserve
Your safari begins with a morning departure from Nairobi heading north through Kenya’s scenic central highlands toward Samburu National Reserve.
Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge followed by an afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Nyiro River where wildlife often gathers.
Dinner and overnight in Samburu.
Day 2 — Full Day Game Drive in Samburu
Spend the full day exploring Samburu National Reserve. This park is famous for rare northern species known as the Samburu Special Five:
- Grevy’s Zebra
- Reticulated Giraffe
- Somali Ostrich
- Beisa Oryx
- Gerenuk
You may also encounter elephants, lions, leopards, and crocodiles along the riverbanks.
Day 3 — Samburu → Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast depart Samburu and drive south toward the Great Rift Valley arriving at Lake Nakuru National Park in the afternoon.
Enjoy a game drive around the lake where you may see rhinos, flamingos, pelicans, buffalo, and occasionally lions or leopards.
Dinner and overnight near Lake Nakuru.
Day 4 — Lake Nakuru → Maasai Mara
After breakfast depart Lake Nakuru and travel to the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve.
Arrive in the afternoon and enjoy an exciting game drive across the savannah plains in search of lions, cheetahs, elephants, and large herds of grazing animals.
Dinner and overnight in Maasai Mara.
Day 5 — Maasai Mara → Return to Nairobi
Enjoy a morning game drive in Maasai Mara, one of Africa’s richest wildlife ecosystems and home to the famous Big Five.
After breakfast you will depart the reserve and drive back to Nairobi arriving in the afternoon.
